The story
The Breathing Garden is a cluster of translucent silicone forms that inhale and exhale on slow pneumatic cycles, lit from within. Proximity sensors make the nearest forms breathe faster and shift color as people walk among them — a garden that notices you. The prototype ran at a regional event last summer and held up beautifully. Scaling it for open playa means bigger forms you can walk beneath, battery banks to replace the generator, and a dust-sealed base that still lets the machines breathe.
Dust, weather & logistics
Fine dust is brutal on pumps and seals; every intake gets a serviceable filter stack we can swap nightly. Batteries eliminate generator noise but need careful thermal management in daytime heat. Two of the crew are industrial automation techs; all electronics are modular and field-swappable.
